Cross-Border Paraplanner
White Lighthouse Investment Management is looking for a Paraplanner to join our fast-growing practice that specializes in cross-border financial planning and investment management. The paraplanner will work closely with the financial planners and back-office personnel on a remote basis as all employees are located in either the US East Coast, or in Europe.
Our new team member must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, customer-centric, organized, adaptable, proficient in technology, have a mindset for continuous learning, and be an effective communicator who can contribute to the team from day one. They must also be able to solve problems, and both work well independently and be a team player working with colleagues internal and external to the firm. This position focus is to provide excellent client services to existing and new clients and WLIM team members. Client and Firm Confidentiality and Cybersecurity awareness and practice are critical.
Primary Responsibilities
As part of the back-office team, they will partner closely with financial planners to support the onboarding of new clients and the ongoing service of existing clients across financial planning and investment management needs
Gather, organize, and maintain client data to prepare account opening and transfer documentation, investment policy statements, ongoing account maintenance requests at custodians such as Charles Schwab, and to facilitate cash transfers for clients
Attend client meetings (as appropriate), take detailed notes, and track follow-up tasks to ensure timely completion and a high level of client service
Prepare customized, on-demand client reports and meeting materials to support financial planner reviews and client meetings.
Act as liaison with custodian service teams, including Charles Schwab & Co., to ensure client and firm requests are processed accurately and in a timely manner
Support our Office Manager in preparing tax and financial reporting to support clients’ diverse tax reporting needs in multi-jurisdictions.
Ensure client files are complete, organized, and audit-ready; assist with internal compliance reviews and regulatory requirements
Contribute to operation improvements, including assisting with the implementation of a new CRM system and maintaining accurate, up-to-date client data within the CRM
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in Financial Services
Preference will be given to candidates with several years of Schwab Advisor Center experience
Experience working with the Schwab Service team on International Issues is a big plus, though not required – Industry experience highly preferred
Excellent Communication skills – Written and Verbal
Attention to detail is critical
Very comfortable with desktop technology
Ability to maintain full compliance with State and Federal Securities Laws and White Lighthouse’s internal policies and procedures

Working Location
For the right individual, we would support working from a home office on the US East Coast. Very minimal travel requirements may be requested, also on the US East Coast. Senior staff are located in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Georgia and North Carolina as well as in Europe.
